The Department of Trade and Industry has decided to provide assistance to
exporters primarily on a sector- or industry-specific basis. To this end the
DTI has encouraged the establishment of Export Councils for the purpose of
promoting exports from within definitive industry sectors. Indeed, the DTI
provides both guidelines and financial assistance in the setting up of such
Export Councils.
